COACHING MATTERS
Coach Sean Matheny
Sean Matheny grew up in Columbus, OH and attended Hamilton Township High School. He had the honor of playing with NBA player Gray Trent, Sr. He then attended The Ohio State University and earned degrees in Mathematics and a doctorate in Dental Surgery. Sean Matheny has owned private practices in Ohio and Florida for over 20 years. More recently, he is an associate professor and Director of Patient Care at LECOM in Bradenton. He spent two years as an assistant at Port Charlotte High School varsity basketball and is a current Venice High School varsity basketball assistant. He started All Florida Elite in 2023. His resume includes 7 years as a travel basketball coach (girls and boys), commissioner of a large youth league in Columbus, Oh for two years and an assistant basketball coach at St. Martha Middle School (Sarasota) for one season.
